The benefits of green-lipped mussel extract

Green-lipped Mussels (Perna canaliculus ) are found only in New Zealand waters. The term green-lipped doesn’t actually refer to lips, but to the colour of the edge of the shell which has a green tinge. The powdered extract of Green-lipped Mussels contains very high concentrations of omega-3s and a unique combination of fatty acids that is not found in any other marine or plant life.

Green-lipped mussels are:

• High in protein and amino acids
• A rich source of essential minerals, including iron, iodine and selenium
• High in omega-3 fatty acids with a very good DHA to EPA ratio
• An excellent source of glucosamine and chondroitin

Studies have shown that Green-lipped Mussel Extract is effective in reducing pain and inflammation in joints for both people and pets. It is not only useful for pets that are already suffering from arthritis, many pet owners use this supplement as a preventative in order to save their pets some pain and stiffness down the line.

After more than 30 years of research and clinical experience, Green-lipped Mussel Extract is recognised as one of the most effective natural anti-inflammatory and joint mobility supplements available.
